Right at the very beginning of the secret craft house's life, the dream was to end up selling on

I've been a customer and a fan since 2006. Way back when shopping online was in its early days, I remember discovering Notonthehighstreet and never looking back, it became my go-to place for wedding gifts, birthday gifts and the place I looked first for original nursery decor and inspiration when I found out we were having a little boy.

It made sense to me then that my customers would be looking for personalised and bespoke products such as mine on Notonthehighstreet, and having spotted a gap for personalised name garlands and felt decorations, I set out to fill that space with my handmade products.

I've always been a creative type, and I love the whole process of designing and making products, photographing them and creating something bespoke and personal. With a toddler around (and an inquisitive one too) it's no mean feat trying to get through my orders during the daytime, let alone focusing on marketing and spreading the word of The secret craft house around the web. Notonthehighstreet have taken this side of my business off my hands, and they do it so brilliantly, with an audience of millions. I feel confident that notonthehighstreet's brand values are in line with mine and they focus on promoting an aspirational lifestyle, as I've aimed to.

I booked a product photoshoot with Yeshen Venema in his gorgeous studio in Thornhill Square, London. Luckily enough, some brilliant brands such as Julia Staite, Heather Alstead, The Baby Duck Co, The Oak Room and Lucky Boy Sunday lent me products to use as props. A busy day was spent styling and eucalypus oil burned. I could not have been happier with the images I received just a few days after, which really did my products justice. Notonthehighstreet agreed and I was launched on the site a few weeks after this. One major life goal accomplished!

Since launching on, being able to focus on my products and orders has made a huge difference to the way I manage my precious time. The orders come in consistently, which is fantastic.
We are in the process of a house move at the moment, where I will have a studio to design and make my products. For the time being I am working in an open plan cottage with an 18 month old baby who enjoys nothing more than climbing, the sewing machine being his favourite thing to play with! It's proving tough at the moment as it's difficult to predict on a week-to-week basis what will come in, and with a 5-7 day despatch time, busier times mean working early mornings and late nights.

A week after launching on the site I was invited to the local NOTHS 10th birthday party, where I met some inspiring women who all had a similar story to mine. It was a brilliant introduction to a company who champions talented small business owners and has changed many lives in the process.

I am so excited to be a part of this inspiring and ever-changing business, and the things that are ahead for The Secret Craft House. Keep a look out for my products on the site!
